GAP & COVERAGE ANALYSIS
If you can't look it up, you can't sell it. Automotive catalog gap analysis shows you what is missing.
Clarity's automotive catalog gap analysis tool identifies every vehicle your catalog is missing, ranks them by vehicle population, and updates automatically on every ACES import.

What Is Automotive Catalog Gap Analysis?
Gap and coverage analysis is the foundational capability of Clarity Analytics. It answers the most basic and most important question in catalog management: for every vehicle on the road, does your catalog have the part that vehicle needs?

The answer requires matching your ACES catalog applications against the full VIO universe, vehicle by vehicle, part type by part type, across every market you serve. Done manually, that is a weeks-long project with a high error rate. Done with Clarity's automotive catalog gap analysis tool, it runs automatically every time your catalog updates.

How Does Clarity Calculate Catalog Coverage?
Clarity builds an analytics model around your catalog using configurable scope criteria specific to your product category. It evaluates every vehicle application in your ACES catalog and classifies each vehicle in the VIO base. The result is a coverage percentage calculated at the vehicle level — not the application level — so overlap across sub-brands is handled correctly and double-counting is eliminated.

Vehicles are classified into four categories:

Covered: Vehicles covered by at least one application in your catalog.
Holes: Vehicles within scope but with no matching application in your catalog, ranked by VIO volume. These are your ACES coverage gaps.
Research Items: Vehicles flagged for further review before a coverage determination can be made.
Not Required: Vehicles excluded from coverage requirements based on model configuration.
